Gerasdorf je prvi put dokumentiran oko 1200. pod imenom Viricus des Gerhartesdorf, kao feud darovan samostanu Klosterneuburg.Gerasdorf je tek 1849. postao nezavisna općina, sve dotad bio je kao i susjednji Seyring samo feud.
